Matured in 2010, this is a vatting of whisky from two of Japan’s finest distilleries: Hanyu and Chichibu. Hanyu Distillery was built by Ichiro Akuto’s grandfather, and Chichibu by Ichiro himself. Akuto rescued Hanyu Distillery’s last remaining casks, giving this expression a prominent exclusivity, a chance to try something that will soon be gone forever. Free from chill-filtration and artificial colouring, this is a blend that balances two classic malts with a master’s precision. The whisky has a nutty flavour, with light floral notes of peach and pear accompanied with cinnamon, cloves and spices.
Ichiro’s Malt Double Distilleries 2021 is a Japanese blended malt whisky, born from a collaboration between Chichibu and Komagatake distilleries.
